Insurance of our consignments:
Compared to the established domestic practice, DELTA SPED Kft has a high transportation third party insurance with a limit of 500,000 Euros per year.
However, it is important to note that, according to the relevant legal provisions regarding the transportation of goods, the forwarder has limited responsibility, at a maximum of 8.33 SDR/gross goods weight in case of goods damage (up to HUF 2600-2900 / kg – depending on the changes in the exchange rate). The amount of any compensation for loss that can be claimed from the forwarder in case of damage to the goods, destruction or loss of the goods may not exceed this value!
The value limit of forwarder’s third party insurance is USD 100,000 according to the general practice.
In practice this means that the forwarder can cause damages exceeding this value in case the goods are destroyed or incompletely delivered, however, the claim for compensation may not be enforced or may only be enforced with great difficulty without the proper forwarder’s third party insurance.
In case the value of the goods exceeds the above-mentioned 8.33 SDR/kg or the total value of all the goods exceeds USD 100,000, we recommend that a separate one-way consignment insurance should be made!
